Design and Interpretation

sophie-scrutonSophie Scruton helps clients with the interpretation and presentation of their collection or their historic place, whether for exhibition purposes or for publication.

Sophie’s approach is to explore the story to be told, to build in layers to provide something for everyone, and to ensure that the place and the artefacts play the leading role.

Sophie helped the Friends of Athelstan Museum in Malmesbury to think in a fresh way about their museum’s potential, enabling them to make best use of the space, raise funds and develop their audiences.

Sophie is also an elected council member of the National Trust – a governance and advisory role. She has worked as Fundraising Director for the Beckford Tower Museum in Bath, Researcher for the Bath Preservation Trust, and as Editor and Designer of a monthly journal. Currently she is preparing a publication for a charity devoted to preserving the Saxon villages of Transylvania.
