emily-leachA highly qualified consultant with over twenty years’ experience of curatorial and educational work, Emily Leach offers strategic and practical advice on learning services for all communities, especially schools and older people.

Having helped set up the acclaimed River & Rowing Museum at Henley on Thames, Emily led the development of the Thames Gallery, awarded National Heritage UK Museum of the Year in 2000. Later Head of Education, her team won a £750,000 Heritage Lottery Fund grant for a new education centre.

Working as an independent consultant since 2005, Emily has enabled museums to plan their audience development and learning services, make successful funding bids and coordinate professional networks.

She has also empowered museums in South Africa to develop skills and resources and establish links with schools.

Emily is an expert advisor and mentor for the HLF and a Trustee for the Group for Education in Museums. She has been Membership Secretary for the Association of Independent Museums and holds a BA (hons) in Medieval and Modern History, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, the Diploma of the Museums’ Association and a Diploma in Management Studies.
